ENGAGEMENTS

SCHMIDT - CABERTO

Heidi Dyan Schmidt and Kevin John Caberto have

annouced their plans to marry in June.

Heidi is the daughter of Janet and Doug Schmidt ofof Bakersfield.

She attended North High in Bakersfield, and graduatedfrom Cal State

Long Beach in 1998 with a bachelor of arts

degree in psychology. She is employed at Deutsche Bankas a trust

assistant.

Kevin is the son of Jody and Warlito Caberto of Glendale.

He attended St. Francis High School in La Canada Flintridge, and

graduated from U.C. Irvine in 1996 with a bachelors degree in

environmental analysis. He is employed at Liberty Mutual in the city of

Orange as a case manager.

The couple plan a honeymoon away from it all!

Fonseca -- Cowles

Sandra M. Fonseca and Matthew A. Cowles of Burbank will be married at

the St. Charles Borromeo Parish in July.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Julia R. and Antonio M. Fonseca of

Burbank. She graduated from Burbank High School and UCLA with a

bachelor's degree in political science. She received her teaching

credentials from Cal State Northridge. She is working on her master's

degree at Cal State Los Angeles. She works as a first-grade teacher in

the Los Angeles Unified School District.

The groom-to-be is the son of Darlene Cowles Townsend of Van Nuys and

John V. Cowles III of Burbank. He graduated from Burbank High School and

is employed at Hathaway-Dinwiddie Construction Co. as a superintendent.

HUCKABY - LEWIS

Congressman and Mrs. Thomas Jerald Huckabyof McLean, Va., formerly of

Ringgold, La. announcethe engagement of their daughter, Michelle Lynn

Huckabyto Dr. Todd Christopher Lewis.

Michelle graduated from Stanford University andVanderbilt University

of Law. She will graduate fromTulane University School of Medicine in

May.

Todd is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Ernest Lewisof Burbank. He

graduated from Burbank High School,Stanford University and Tulane

University School of Medicine.

He is a physician in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Los

Angeles County USC Hospital.

A spring wedding is planned. The couple will make their home in

Burbank.
