High schools will use city pools during construction

BURBANK -- Burbank and John Burroughs high schools' water polo and

swim programs will use pools at city parks during construction at the two

campuses, officials said.

The construction, which is part of the district's modernization

project started in 1998, will begin this summer and take place over

several years, school officials said. McCambridge and Verdugo Park pool

facilities will be used to host water polo and swim meets starting this

summer.

Burroughs High School's Learn To Swim Program will not be offered

until construction of the school's pool is completed.
