What could be more romantic than watching a husband and wife make

beautiful music together?

That's what the Glendale Symphony Orchestra has planned for tonight

when its Music Director and Conductor Sidney Weiss and his wife, Jeanne,

perform together during the all-Mozart concert at The Alex Theatre in

Glendale.

This is the second concert of the orchestra's 76th season and it

begins at 8 p.m.

The program is Overture to Cosi fan tutte, K. 588, Concerto in A major

for Piano, K. 488, featuring Jeanne on piano, Concerto in A major for

Violin, K.219 featuring Sidney on violin and Symphony No. 35, K. 385

"Haffner."

Colony producing last play before move to Burbank

The Colony Studio Theatre has opened its last production before it

moves to Burbank's Media City Center mall in the former Natural History

Museum space.

"A Shayna Maidel" by Barbara Lebow, continuing until April 9, will be

the final Mainstage production at the company's Silver Lake home of 25

years.

The play is directed by Scott Segall, who has directed the critically

acclaimed Colony hits "Incident At Vichy" and "Morning Star."

It tells the moving sotry of two sisters reunited in New york in 1946

after 18 years of separation. One has spent her life in America while the

other has survived the Nazi concentration camps in Poland. Together, they

overcome the cultural and historical divides that separate them and

discover the meaning of family in this haunting, award-winning drama.

Tickets are $20 to $26. Shows are at 8 p.m. Thursdays through

Saturdays with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. The Colony Studio Theatre is at

Barbara Beckley, producing director, says that as soon as constuction

is complete, the company will move in April to its new location.

It will be the culmination of four years working with the city of

Burbank. She says the group will announce the name of the opening show

soon.
