Panikowski was driving on Magnolia Boulevard looking for parking

violations when the girl ran out in front of her car, Police Lt. Bob

Giles said.

"Speed was not a factor," Giles said of the incident. After

investigating, police determined Panikowski was going between 10 and 15

mph when the accident occurred.

The girl suffered scrapes and bruises and complained of multiple pains

and was taken to Childrens Hospital, police said. She was later taken to

a Kaiser facility for observation before being released.
