Red Cross looking for disaster corps members

BURBANK -- The American Red Cross AmeriCorps-National Rapid Response

Corps is looking to expand its membership.

Adults 18 to 27 are encouraged to join. The NRRC is the chief young

adult disaster corps in the nation, helping out after local and national

catastrophes. Members also administer health and safety preparedness

education to local communities.

The stint is 10 months and candidates must have at least one year of

volunteer experience and be available for assignments lasting 21 days. A

weekly living allowance, training, health care coverage and an education

award are provided.
