BURBANK -- Two Burbank businesses were hit by armed robbers, losing

about $2,400 in all, police said.

In the first robbery, two men entered Altadena Dairy at 2801 N.

Glenoaks Blvd. just before noon Friday and demanded the two employees get

on the ground. One of the robbers had a gun, police said.

While one of the assailants pilfered the cash register, the other took

the employees' wallets and ordered them into the walk-in freezer. When

the workers came out of the freezer a few minutes later, the robbers were

gone. About $1,600 was taken, police said.

Five hours later, a man walked into Igloo Cafe at 171 Maple St. and

pulled a gun from his waistband. He ordered one of the workers to lay on

the floor while he forced the other to open the cash register. The robber

fled with almost $800, police said.
