Youth violence hearing to be broadcast

BURBANK -- The views of local teens on youth violence and potential

solutions to the problem will be the subject of several broadcasts on

local cable television starting today.

"Combating Youth Violence," a hearing of the state Senate Select

Committee on Juvenile Justice recently held in Glendale, features several

young panelists, most of whom attend local high schools, sharing their

thoughts on the issue with local legislators.

The July 20 event was put on by committee chairman and state Sen. Adam

Schiff (D-Burbank), along with the city and the Glendale Unified School

District.

The hearing will be broadcast at 5 p.m. today and on Aug. 10, 17, 24

and 31 on Charter Cable Channel 25.
