Van Bloem Singers auditioning

Auditions are being held for singers in all sections of The Van Bloem

Singers, an all-volunteer group that performs for service clubs,

volunteer organizations, senior residences and charitable organizations.

All singers are invited and being able to sight read isn't required.

Rehearsals are from 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. Mondays at the Salvation Army

Chapel, Third Street and Angeleno Avenue.

All of the singers were formally with the Burbank Civic Light Opera.

They are called the Van Bloem Singers in memory of the late Paul Van

Bloem, long-time musical director of the light opera company.

The group's repertoire includes: "The Music of Broadway," Showstoppers

99," "Music Americana," and "Music for the Holidays." The singers are

directed by Elaine Paonessa and accompanied by pianist, Bill Marles.
