CIVIC CENTER -- The City Council wants to know what you think about

city services.

At its meeting Tuesday, the council approved a comprehensive survey to

get a finger on the pulse of residents' attitudes about the quality of

life in Burbank.

The city will ask residents whether they are satisfied with police,

fire, library, parks, public works and utilities services.

The council had set aside $25,000 in the 2000-2001 budget to hire a

consultant to oversee the survey, which will get underway in the spring.

The city last polled residents in 1994-95. The response was favorable,

including 78.5% who said the city ranked either high or very high as a

place to live.

Mayor Bill Wiggins, who shepherded the earlier study through a series

of public meetings, proposed the new one shortly before he assumed the

mayor's post in May.
