I am writing this letter in response to what I heard that the council
meeting the other night.
I do not agree with gadflies at the City Council meeting about many
things, such as loss of property values, ROAR, the airport, the yelling
and calling my council members crooks.
But this time, I agree with them about the city playing Santa Claus.
It is outrageous that the city would consider a gift of $250,000 to
Sears to bring a store into Burbank.
A better idea would be for the city to give a tax break to any new
business that would move to Burbank you would fill every empty space in
the Media City Center mall. This is also generate more employment than
any Sears store.
The gadflies are absolutely right about this outrageous gift.
I would ask the council to not give this worthless idea anymore
thought. Do not waste our money.
