Dilibert.
The resident, whose apartment had been ransacked, scuffled with the
youth, who pleaded with the man not to call police because he was on
probation, Dilibert said.
The boy and the other suspects, who were not inside the apartment when
the man entered, took off running but were apprehended by police a short
time later with help of the man and a neighbor who tracked the boys'
whereabouts, Dilibert said.
Police recovered cable boxes, a cordless telephone, luggage and
computer equipment. The boys allegedly climbed onto a second-story
balcony and entered through an unlocked sliding door, Dilibert said.
"We've had some burglaries in that area," he said. "These could be our
guys."
Three of the boys were transferred to Sylmar Juvenile Hall, Dilibert
said. The fourth suspect was cited and released to a parent.
