MAGNOLIA PARK -- Two burglary suspects might have avoided arrest if

they had only kept their mouths shut.

But the 25-year-old Whittier man -- Enrique Adame -- and a 15-year-old

Los Angeles boy were taken into custody about 11:30 p.m. Thursday after

Burbank police questioned them for allegedly disturbing the peace at

Carl's Jr. in the 500 block of Hollywood Way.

"They asked for free food and were asked to leave," said Burbank

police Lt. John Dilibert. "The two became belligerent."

During questioning, officers noticed that both males appeared to turn

their bodies to conceal one side, Dilibert said.

The two were subsequently searched, and officers allegedly recovered

about $600 of merchandise that included film, batteries, peanuts and

alcohol that was believed to be stolen from a nearby Albertsons and

Sav-On, Dilibert said.

The two were arrested on suspicion of burglary and receiving stolen

property, he said.
