Burbank native Lauren Dixon lives in Glendale and attends Hoover High
School. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Burbank.
Kellie McElderry, of Glendale, attended St. Francis Xavier School in
Burbank and attends Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy.
Chairing the event, titled "Now and Forever," were Cheryl Dickins and
Wendy Fowlie of La Canada Flintridge and Kathy MacDonald of La Crescenta.
Chapter President Joy Lang served as mistress of ceremonies, and the
introductions were given by Ticktocker President Lauren Guza, a senior at
La Canada High School.
In the past six years, the Class of 2001 gave 7,761 hours of service
to such philanthropies as the YWCA of Glendale, Special Olympics,
Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Los Angeles Zoo, Tournament of Roses
Assn., local hospitals and Twelve Oaks Lodge, a nonprofit retirement home
in La Crescenta owned by the National Charity League of Glendale.
This year, the National Charity League of Glendale is celebrating 50
years as the founding chapter of a nationwide mother and daughter
organization that promotes volunteerism and community service.
