HILLSIDE DISTRICT -- Students at St. Francis Xavier Elementary School
will be teaching their peers about foreign countries at an annual social
studies fair later this month.
The fair, which will run for family viewing from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday in Holy Cross Hall in the upper school building, will feature
students acting as ambassadors for a country of their choice.
A student viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 at
the school, 3801 Scott Road.
Student participants are expected to present a handmade map, flag and
stamp of the country they represent, and will speak to visitors about
unique points of interest and history.
Samples of food, products and music will be included in each
presentation, which is a major part of the students' quarter grade.
