Local art may go to Washington, D.C.

GLENDALE -- A Congressional Arts Forum & Competition will showcase

artwork from area students next week in Glendale.

The competition entries will be on public exhibit from noon to 4 p.m.

Monday, May 7, at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., and will include

Burbank and other area school districts from 7 to 9 p.m.

Staff members from the office of U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank)

will be available to answer questions about federal government issues.

The art will move from Glendale to Washington, D.C., where first-place

artwork will hang for public viewing in the Capitol for one year. Second-

and third-place art will hang in local congressional offices.
