of the ROAR initiative. The city cannot comment for or against the ROAR
ballot.
What is outrageous is that Sarquiz's father, former Burbank Mayor the
Rev. Larry Stamper, is one of the creators of the argument against ROAR.
What is outrageous is that Sarquiz is beholden to the City Council for
her $77,000 annual salary and any raises she receives. Any comments on
ROAR by Sarquiz are a conflict of interest.
Murphy's statements regarding Howard Rothenbach's pro-ROAR ballot
statements were ridiculous. Murphy is quoted as saying, "I was just
really angry," and "They obviously didn't care about representing the
facts in the argument. It's such a disregard for the truth. It's lies.
It's disgusting."
What is disgusting is the Murphy and Dave Golonski framework for
settlement that sold out the residents of Burbank with its
365,000-square-foot terminal and no curfew or caps on flights.
What is disgusting is the thousands of Burbank taxpayer dollars she
and Golonski voted, in closed session, to spend on a framework for
settlement brochure and a cable television commercial that was so flawed
and filled with lies and propaganda that City Attorney Dennis Barlow
would not allow it to be distributed.
What is disgusting is Murphy's attack on ROAR.
ROAR is only taking the promises Murphy has repeatedly made about
supporting curfews and noise restrictions before a new terminal can be
built. ROAR puts her promises into a binding, legal format that Murphy
and the rest of the council must follow.
Please look for your ROAR mail-in ballots in early September.
Safeguard Burbank from unrestricted and unlimited airport growth.
Vote yes on ROAR.
