Burbank teen actor awarded

BURBANK -- Elan Lixander, a 14-year-old Burbank resident, received a

merit award for outstanding achievement in theater at Los Angeles County

High School for the Arts.

Chosen among nine other first-year winners, Lixander is a martial arts

Junior Olympic medalist and has been acting since he was 4.

He performed in the play "Journeys Under Milkwood" at LACHSA and just

completed performing in "Hollywood Latinos Offspring," a docu-drama about

Latinos in the acting industry.

Lixander hopes to continue acting and someday travel to England to

research his father's roots, which include Quaker and Saxon ancestors.
