Dark Delicacies is holding a signing for two artists and one author at

2 p.m. today. Artist Bernie Wrightson, the original artist of "The Swamp

Thing," of DC Comics, will sign his new sketchbook, "Creatures Featured

#2." Another artist, known as gak, will sign "Dead Cat Bounce," which he

illustrated for author Gerard Houarner. Rounding out the signing is young

adult author Howard Hecker, who will sign his books "Vampire Wasps" and


"Mike McGill Wizard." The bookstore is at 4213 W. Burbank Blvd. For more

The Burbank Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship

International meets at 9 a.m. for breakfast and fellowship at Ramada Inn,

Overeaters Anonymous, a 12-Step group for people suffering from

compulsive overeating and other eating disorders, meets at 10 a.m. at the

Magnolia Park United Methodist Church, 2828 Magnolia Blvd. Meetings are

Blind and visually impaired people and their families and friends meet

at 10 a.m. the second Saturday of every month to provide support and

discuss available services. Seating is limited, so an RSVP is

The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Gudgeon Ship No.

8310 holds its monthly breakfast every third Sunday of the month from 9

a.m. to noon at 1006 W. Magnolia Blvd. Donations of $3 are appreciated.


The American Legion holds bingo at 12:30 p.m. at 940 W. Olive Ave.

Volunteers are needed for the Joslyn Center's Stay-at-Home project.

The goal of the project is to provide information to seniors, their

family and the community to prepare for successful aging. Volunteers will

be educated on issues of aging, available resources and the necessity for

After School Daze, sponsored by the Burbank Park, Recreation and

Community Services Department, is a fun and low-cost child care program

held daily after school until 5:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 4. There are

still a limited number of openings for children at Disney, Edison,

Roosevelt, Stevenson and Washington elementary schools. The fee is $100
