Congratulations

August 11, 2001

Michael E. Stern, Photoshop instructor and professional photographer,

has not always been willing to do most of his work at a computer.

He used to hang out of helicopters for aerial shots and carry heavy

equipment around location shoots.

But health problems that affected his bones and nerves and limited his

mobility led the Burbank resident to the desktop to learn digital

technology. Stern, an instructor at Glendale Community College, is now

featured in the July 2001 issue of Professional Photographer magazine.

The article focuses on his latest fine art photo series, called "Bone

Daddy." The striking images are Photoshop-enhanced X-rays, primarily of

his own body, that were created as a way to deal with his ongoing health

issues.

His work continues to flourish. Stern has a client list that includes

The Walt Disney Co., Warner Bros. Studios, Sotheby's and Universal

Studios. He will teach Imaging with Photoshop II at the college this

fall.
