Mozart celebrated at Alex concert

GLENDALE -- Conductor Jeffrey Kahane and Robert Levin will play

Mozart's Concerto No. 10 in E flat for two pianos with the Los Angeles

Chamber Orchestra at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Alex Theatre in Glendale.

Pianist Levin, with Music Director Kahane conducting, will also play

Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor. Renewing Mozart's

improvisational tradition, Levin accepts original ideas from the audience

to compose an aural tapestry in front of the audience's eyes and ears.

Also on the program are Vivaldi's Concerto in C for two trumpets and

strings, featuring orchestra members David Washburn and Darren Mulder as

well as Vasks' "Cantabile for Strings."

Concert Conversations with conductor Kahane will be presented one hour

before the concert. It is free to all ticket holders.

Tickets range from $13 to $55 and are available by calling the LACO

office at (213) 622-7001 ext. 215 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through

Friday. Tickets may also be purchased at the Alex box office the night of

the concert. The Alex is at 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale.
