SOUTH SAN FERNANDO DISTRICT -- To celebrate a $1.7 million facility
remodeling, the City of Burbank Recycle Center will have a ribbon-cutting
Thursday.
Improvements include an upgraded fire-protection system and new
equipment that can handle twice as much material as was previously
possible.
The center processes 200 tons of materials per day at its 10-year-old
facility, owned by the city and operated by BLT Recycling Inc., an Oxnard
contractor.
The event features a ceremony and conversations with city officials
and recycling center representatives. Refreshments will be served.
The center is at 500 S. Flower St. The free event starts at 10 a.m.
