Author Richard Matheson will sign his short-story book, "Nightmare at

20,000 Feet," at 2 p.m. at Dark Delicacies, 4213 W. Burbank Blvd. Joining

Matheson will be award-winning artist William Stout, who did the

illustrations in Matheson's other new book, "Abu and the Seven Marvels."

Also on hand will be writer/illustrator Michel Gagne signing his latest

book, "Frenzied Fauna From A to Z," and Dennis Etchison with his latest

Adults 55 and older can sign up now for Bridge classes at Joslyn Adult

Center, 1301 W. Olive Ave. Beginners meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays,

Jan. 16, through March 27, 2002. Intermediate classes meet from 9 to 11

a.m. Fridays, Jan. 18, through March 29. Cost is $5 for the instruction

238-5353, Monday through Friday, 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m.

A Japanese flower arrangement class is from 10 to 11 a.m. on the

second Wednesday of each month at the Joslyn Adult Center, 1301 W. Olive

Ave. Bring a shallow bowl, cut flowers or greens, a pair of scissors and

a flower frog. The class is free, but will cost $5 if a frog is needed.

a.m. every Wednesday at the Joslyn Adult Center, 1301 W. Olive Ave. For

Volunteer drivers are needed for the Burbank home-delivered meals

program, which supplies food daily to frail elderly residents who are

homebound. If you are available to deliver meals between 10:30 a.m. and

12:30 p.m. any weekday, contact Dee Call at 238-5370. Volunteers must

have their own cars.

The Auld Lange Syne Bridge Club meets to play bridge, Shanghai and

other card games from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joslyn Adult Center, 1301

W. Olive Ave. For information, call Alan at 507-1514. Seniors interested

in bridge, Shanghai or mah-jongg lessons can call 238-5353.

The Burbank Noon Kiwanis Club observes its annual Sweetheart Day

program beginning at noon at the Burbank YMCA, 321 E. Magnolia Blvd.
