Scholarships available for service volunteers

LOS ANGELES -- High school and college students with 300 hours of

community service are invited to apply for one of five $2,000

scholarships funded by Kaiser Permanente Watts Counseling and Learning


The scholarships are open to any student who has completed community

service in Los Angeles County in a program not mandated by school or


other programs. Applicants must also have a minimum grade point average

of 2.5.

To be eligible, applicants must be high school seniors or enrolled in

a community college, four-year college, university or

vocational/technical school. Applicants must also demonstrate a

commitment to community service leadership.

Applications will be available through March and must be received by 5

p.m. April 12.
