Letter -- Will Ray

March 13, 2002

I think it's great that the city of Burbank is demanding that Charter

Communications honor its so-called 30-second answer agreement. I have

Charter Pipeline Internet Service, and I'm always being shuffled between

different operators when I call, always being put on hold.

The last time I called them on a cable TV issue, I was told I had to

be transferred to their Internet services department because, for some

reason I still don't understand, my cable TV information is in their

Internet files. It was a 30-minute ordeal. Nothing makes sense at

Charter.

They can blame everything they want on a flood in December (I don't

remember a flood in Burbank), but frankly, their service has always been

subpar to me. I think we should have a provision stating if Charter's

phone answering rate is at 65%, then we only have to pay 65% of our

monthly bill. When money talks, Charter seems to listen. When the rest of

us talk, we get put on hold.
