Author, decorated veteran to speak at university

BURBANK -- A decorated veteran of three wars and best selling author

will speak Sunday at Woodbury University.

Col. David Hackworth will discuss his career and receive an honorary

degree. Hackworth spent almost 26 years in the Army and more than seven

years in combat. The recipient of eight Purple Hearts, Hackworth is a

syndicated columnist whose books include "Hazardous Duty," "The Price of

Honor," and "About Face: The Odyssey of an American Warrior."

The cocktail and buffet reception will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at

Woodbury University, 7500 Glenoaks Blvd. Hackworth will give a talk at 7

p.m.

The cost for the event is $50 for the entire evening, $25 for the

discussion and dessert only. Student tickets, which include the

discussion and dessert, are $10. For tickets, call Woodbury University at
