MEDIA DISTRICT NORTH -- In the old days, the female roles in

Shakespeare's plays were performed by men. The drama department at

Burbank High School turned that idea on its head with its production of

"Henry V," where many of the females will be playing men. Even Henry will

be played by a girl -- senior Selin Mehrabian.

"It's really different from traditional versions where guys played all

the parts," Mehrabian said. The cast has been rehearsing for the play

since early March.

"Shakespeare can be hard to understand but our performance is

action-packed and really entertaining," Mehrabian said. The show comes

complete with fight scenes and swords.

"Henry V" will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the

Burbank High School auditorium at 902 N. Third Street. Tickets are

available at the door and are $5 for students and $7 for adults. For more

information call 558-4700.
