AIRPORT DISTRICT -- The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority

unanimously approved a change to its fees for off-site airport parking

operators that could mean a $535,000 boost to the airport's yearly

revenue.

Monday's Airport Authority meeting had a full house that included

representatives from Carter's VSP Parking, the Burbank Airport Hilton and

Zelman Development Corp., all of whom will be affected by the fee change.

The new rates will go into effect June 1, and include raising the

entrance fee for limos, charter buses and shuttles from $1 to $1.50, from zero to $1.50 for hotel/motel courtesy vehicles, and from between zero

and $100 per month for off-airport lot operators to 10% of gross receipts

plus $1.50 per trip.

For Carter's, as much of 15% of its gross revenue could be going to

the Airport Authority as a result of the change, Vice President Derek R.

Sweet said. While he didn't expect the increase to reach the consumer

immediately, he anticipated that it would at some point.
