Summer carnival set at Providencia school

AIRPORT DISTRICT -- A carnival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at

Providencia Elementary School ushers in the start of the summer season.

Traditional carnival games, face painting, button making, temporary

tattoos and spin art will keep children amused.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, snow cones and drinks will appease

hungry appetites.

To win gift baskets, tickets -- at 50 cents apiece -- can be put in

the container next to the basket of choice. The winning ticket will be

drawn from each container. Proceeds benefit the PTA.

The school is at 1919 N. Ontario St.
