The classic European- flavored food and music gala will be from
5:30 to 10 p.m. along Central Avenue from San Fernando Road to Los
Feliz Boulevard.
Tickets for the black-tie optional event are $150 and benefit the
hospital.
Negron's show begins at 8 p.m. on the Concert Stage at San
Fernando Road. The Eddie Reed Swing Band will warm up the crowd
beginning at 5:30.
Other musical groups will be entertaining on the Performing Arts
Stage at Los Feliz Boulevard. Ian Whitcomb will present a Tin Pan
Alley revue with his Bungalow Boys at 5:30, 7 and 8:30 p.m.
Cirque du Soleil's Eric Newton and his The Eye of Newt Circus,
will present juggling, acrobatics and more at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. L.A.
Mime Company founder Mitchel Evans and his partner, Donya Giannotta,
will salute comedy greats of silent film in mime at 6 and 8 p.m.
Participating restaurants like 100 West American Grill, Cinnabar
and Gourmet 88 will be offering samples from their menus and
complementing these will be wineries from nine countries.
Tickets will be available the night of the event at the gate
entrance on Laurel Street at Central Avenue.

MEDIA CITY BALLET PERFORMS AT OPEN HOUSE
Members of the Media City Ballet Dance Company of Burbank will
showcase contemporary and classical ballets at Cal State Northridge
today as part of the L.A. County Arts Open House.
The free ballet showcase, at 1:15 and 3:15 p.m., at the Student
Union and Performing Arts Center, features a contemporary pas de deux
and an excerpt from Carmen, choreographed by Artistic Director
Natasha Middleton.

GLENDALE EVENTS PART OF COUNTY OPEN HOUSE
Participating in the 2002 L.A. County Arts Open House, The Alex
Theatre is presenting "The Alex Theatre Celebrates Youth," offering
free performances by Glendale youngsters from noon to 3 p.m. today in
the forecourt.
Music ensembles will feature students from Hoover High School,
Crescenta Valley High School and the International School of Music.
In addition, the Downtown Glendale Merchants Assn. is sponsoring
its first Sidewalk Art Festival along Brand Boulevard and Maryland
Avenue.
