MONTROSE CELEBRATING 25TH OKTOBERFEST
The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the
25th anniversary of the Oktoberfest from noon to 11 p.m. today in the
2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue in Montrose. There will be
German food, rides, games and contests.
DOLL SHOW AND SALE AT CIVIC
Barbara Kouri's Happy Dolling doll show and sale is from 10 a.m.
to 3 p.m. today at the Glendale Civic Auditorium, 1401 N. Verdugo
Road in Glendale.
There will be antique dolls, modern dolls, collectible and
reproduction dolls, Alexanders, Barbies, Genes and more.
Admission is $5, $2 for children younger than 12.
OPEN HOUSE AT CASA ADOBE
Glendale Beautiful will sponsor an open house from 1 to 3 p.m.
Sunday at Casa Adobe de San Rafael, 1330 Dorothy Drive in Glendale.
The organization maintains the historical landmark. Free tours
will be given of the house that was built in 1870 for Tomas Sanchez,
the first sheriff of L.A. County. It features period furnishings,
historical artifacts and photographs. For more information, call

CORNERSTONE CONCERT AT ST. FRANCIS
St. Francis Xavier Church will sponsor a free CornerStone Concert
at 8 tonight. Those attending can come as early as 6 p.m. for
picnicking.
CornerStone, which shares a strong spiritual dimension, will
perform "A Faith Journey Through Music." The group provides music for
liturgies at St. Francis Xavier parish and other churches and
locations in the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles area.

RECORDING ARTIST AT CRAFT FESTIVAL
Recording artist and film composer Jeffrey Michael will perform on
piano during the Harvesttime Craft Festival, sponsored by the Fine
Arts Federation of Burbank today and Sunday at George Izay Park, 1111
W. Olive Ave. in Burbank.
The Huntington Beach resident will present music from his recent
CD "Kaleidoscope" released on the Fireheart Music label. His music
features enchanting melodies and sweeping soundscapes.
