Women of the Moose Walk for the Cure
The Women of the Moose, Burbank Chapter 885, recently participated
in the Susan Komen Walk for the Cure. With more than 85 participants
and a combination of women, men and children, the Pink Ladies Team
raised more than $2,000 to fight breast cancer. After the walk, they
regrouped and recharged at a barbecue and potluck lunch at the
Burbank Moose Lodge.

Job's Daughters take self-defense course
Outgoing honored queen for Bethel 208, Joanna Renee Diel, recently
organized a self-defense class to help interested teens and adults
learn how to protect themselves in case of an assault. Other Bethel
members, parents and city staff joined Diel for two consecutive
Sunday classes at McCambridge Park with Mark Jordan, certified
self-defense instructor.
Bethel 208 of the International Order of Job's Daughters meets the
first Saturday morning of every month and third Friday evening of the

Jaycees are mixing it up with holiday cheer
The Burbank Junior Chamber (a.k.a. Jaycees) is having a holiday

Kiwanis For Fun making pancake batter matter
Burbank Kiwanis For Fun recently had a Pumpkin Pancake breakfast
at Genio's restaurant. Attendees had the choice be- tween pumpkin or
plain pan- cakes, and proceeds went to the Burbank Temporary Aid
Center.
Those helping out were Donna and Tony Wade, Jan Loporanio, Steve
