Police warn residents about prowler

HILLSIDE DISTRICT -- Four recent prowler reports have police

warning residents in the hillside areas to make sure their windows

and doors are secured, even when they are home.

Four reports in the last week in the areas of Andover Drive,

Cornel Drive, Bethany Road and Kenneth Road described a man who was

entering homes in the early morning hours -- about 3 a.m. -- while

residents were home, Sgt. John Dilibert said.

One lady recently woke up to get a glass of water in her kitchen

only to see an unknown man standing in her living room. When she

screamed, he ran out the front door, Dilibert said.

Police believe this burglar is entering homes through unsecured

windows and doors.
