Chihuahuas could be released Tuesday

August 02, 2003

A judge Tuesday is expected to approve an agreement that would allow

a Burbank rescue organization to place nearly 200 Chihuahuas seized

from an Acton breeder into foster homes.

Chihuahua Rescue reached an agreement last month with the Los

Angeles County Department of Animal Control and Care to turn over the

dogs, which county officials said have formed aggressive, feral

packs.

The deal was to be finalized at a July 17 hearing, but the breeder

the dogs were seized from refused to sign the agreement.

District attorney officials said they are confident the judge will

order the dogs to be placed by the rescue agency.
