Two crashes in lot next to school

August 09, 2003

It may have been bingo night inside the Bellarmine- Jefferson High

School cafeteria, but parking lot crashes before and after provided

the excitement.

The first incident happened about 5 p.m. Tuesday when a

41-year-old Glendale woman dropping off her son next door at the

Burbank Central Library apparently mistook the gas and the brake,

jumping the parking lot curb and crashing through a fence into the

cafeteria wall, police said.

The second crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m., when a

77-year-old woman leaving bingo night mistook the gas for the brake

and hit two cars in the parking lot, police said.

Nobody was seriously injured in either crash.
