themselves or the city, through the County of Los Angeles Weed
Abatement Program, will complete the removal and assess the owner.
The purpose of the program is to reduce fire hazards and eliminate
havens for rodents and disease-carrying insects.
The council voted 5-0 in favor of the resolution.
LAKE ONE POWER PROJECT
The council approved plans for retrofitting the Lake One Power
Project's selective catalytic reduction, which reduces nitrogen
oxide and carbon monoxide emissions so that exhaust meets South
Coast Air Quality Management District regulations.
WHAT IT MEANS
The life of the catalyst could be extended from one to five years
from a retrofit, and performance could improve by more than 10%,
according to a staff report. The project is expected to cost $750,000
and should take no longer than two weeks to install.
The council voted 5-0 in favor of the retrofitting program.
