SCAG task force OKs airport report

AIRPORT DISTRICT -- A Southern California Assn. of Governments

subcommittee on Wednesday approved a report predicting that the Bob

Hope Airport will have 10.7 million passengers annually by 2030,

officials said.

The Aviation Task Force agreed with airport traffic figures

provided by the 2004 Regional Transportation Plan, which was released

in October, said Jeff Lustgarten, a spokesman for the association.

The plan, which is updated every three years, projects population

demands on cities in Southern California and how they will affect

services.

Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority officials, however,

believe the figure is excessive.

The task force -- which includes Mayor Stacey Murphy -- will send

the report to the association's governing body, which will decide

whether or not to approve it in April, Lustgarten said.
