This summer's Starlight Bowl concert season features a mix of crowd

pleasers from years past with promising first-time performers,

organizers said.

The Fab Four, Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra and The Answer --

bands that have had strong turnouts in the past -- are scheduled to

return, said Garth Nelson, deputy director of Parks, Recreations and

Commu- nity Services Department, which oversees the Starlight Bowl.

Another mainstay, Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries, will close the

season Aug. 15.

Also on the schedule this year for the first time are "An Evening

with the Rat Pack," ABBA tribute band Bjorn Again and Herman's

Hermits, featuring original singer Peter Noone.

"Each show is two hours of entertainment that parents feel really

comfortable bringing their children to," Nelson said. "It's a great

way to spend a summer evening with the family by having a picnic on

the lawn and overlooking Burbank and the San Fernando Valley."

The biggest event of the season will be "A Star Spangled Salute on

the 4th of July," featuring the Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra, the

United States Air Force Band of the Golden West and aerial fireworks.

Since organizers estimate the 5,000- seat venue will sell out

quickly, tickets should be purchased as soon as they go on sale June
