We'd like to call attention to a recent wonderful Burbank community
event that usually gets little recognition -- the annual Spring Fling
put on by the Burbank Parks and Recreation Department.
On June 5, youths 3 and older performed programs of ballet, tap,
hip hop and gymnastics -- all learned from dedicated teachers from
Park and Rec. The auditorium at the new Burbank High School was twice
filled to capacity with parents, friends and family cheering on young
people who were getting a serious boost of self-esteem!
While the kids shined that night, the evening really was shared by
the instructors who have worked with these kids all year for this
event. We are proud of these teachers who have given -- and continue
to give -- our children valuable lessons, skills and self-confidence.
When we clapped wildly for our children the night of Spring Fling, we
were also applauding these teachers.
Thank you, Park and Rec teachers! We can't wait till next year's
Spring Fling!
