La Providencia Guild dons masks at gala

"Il Carnevale" was the theme for the 56th annual Cotillion Ball

celebrated by La Providencia Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

Members and their guests gathered for an elegant evening of

cocktails, dinner and dancing at The Castaway Starlight Room.

This year's chairwoman, Estela Ihlenfeldt, designed a festive

carnival theme complete with custom masks that were complementary

gifts given to all guests attending.

President Sharon Ranshaw and her executive officers greeted guests

and the evening's chairwomen were introduced. They were Sharon

Terranova, centerpieces; Marjorie Overstreet, decorations; Lynne

Meares, invitations; Marilyn Teasley, donations; Judy Gragg, program;

Charlene Dettmann, reservations; Elaine Thomas, thank-you's; Linda

Hansen, tickets; Mary Jo Hjelmstrom, special drawing; and Lisa

Murray, entertainment.

Following the feast of lobster thermidor and chicken breast with

Chardonnay cream sauce was a creative offering of special peach

mousse dessert.

Music was by We the People, and a special attraction was an

artistic dance interpretation and salsa instruction by the Dance
