Ticktockers model fashions, receive awards

National Charity League of Burbank had its annual fashion show and

awards event titled "Il Manichino Bello" at The Castaway. Chapter

President Dana Brooks welcomed the guests.

The 11th- and 12th-grade Ticktocker members modeled fashions

spanning from the Medieval times to 2004.

Charity League is a six-year, mother and daughter organization

that provides volunteer service to local charities. Each member must

perform a number of hours each year. Mothers and their daughters,

called Ticktockers, donate time to the YMCA, Burbank Temporary Aid

Center, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, the Burbank Boys and Girls

Club, and others.

Kathy Hodgins, chapter hours and charm chairwoman, conducted the

awards presentation.

The 100 hour-plus volunteer awards went to Kristina Barragan,

Briana Cwik, Jacqui Goglia, Ashley Kurges, Kelly Reinig, KC

Stumbaugh, Nadia Trevino, Rebecca Andreassen, Lesley Aquino, Chantal

Arellano, Carli Brooks, Natalita Oliver, Elizabeth Tucker and Lauren

Reeves.

More were Cassandra Baltazar, Olivia Barragan, Alyssa Butler,

Courtney Korb, Alyssa Maskell, Tori Suarez, Natasha Christoffersen,

Rachel Lizotte, Kristine Riley, Kate Alley, Caitlyn Cwik, Megan

Gorman, Kiki Kalendar, Hilary Khoury, Kristina Ortiz, Courtney

Picciolo, Maia Caravantes-Pop, Elke Besvold, Ashely Bonilla,

Christine Horne, Christine Poyner and Danille Rodriguez.

Sophomore Natasha Christoffersen was given the Mercy Award for the

most hours this year, and senior Briana Cwik was presented the Tyra

Award, for the most hours as a member of National Charity League.

Co-chairwomen were past president Natalia Oliver and Rosario

Arellano. Artwork was created by Aldo Puccini. Italian entrance music

was provided by Robin H. Keisberg.

Past president Vicki Williams attended the event. Graduate

Ticktockers attending were Kelly Van Pelt, Lisa Williams, Celia

Oliver, Amberle Cwik, Katy Cooper, Shannon Cooper, Christina Tucker,

Amanda Niss and Kathy Peterson.

Mae Ross of Macker Entertainment in Glendale was the director of

the modeling, show and mistress of ceremonies.

Temporary Aid Center has dinner fundraiser

Burbank Temporary Aid Center will benefit from a dinner fundraiser

from 6 to 9 p.m. July 26 at the Macaroni Grill restaurant.

For $20, diners will have a choice of six entrees, along with a

salad and a drink. The entree choices are pizza Margherita, grilled

salmon, angel hair pasta with chicken or shrimp, fettuccine Alfredo,

baked pasta with grilled chicken and mushrooms, or honey balsamic

grilled chicken.

All funds will help with the cost of the new building fund. BTAC

provides food and shelter for those in need.
