Beachwood drives about 10:10 p.m. Wednesday.
The driver, Theodore Green, 21, of Santa Clarita, was killed in
the crash.
Green lost control of the motorcycle as he was eastbound on
Riverside Drive. The motorcycle struck the curb, tossing both Green
and Petrie, police said.
As part of its investigation, the department will reconstruct the
scene using skid marks, points of impact, road condition, weight of
the motorcycle to determine how fast it was going at the time of the
crash, Sgt. Jay Jette said.
"From witness statements, there is nothing to indicate another
vehicle was involved," Jette said. "At this time, excessive speed was
a major factor."
