BURBANK VS. HART

* WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

* WHERE: College of the Canyons in Valencia.

* RECORDS: The Bulldogs are 3-5, 0-3 in league; the Indians are

* OUTLOOK:Burbank gets the unlucky draw to have to face Hart after

the Indians had their worst Foothill League outing in 13 seasons last

week. The loss to Valencia gave Hart its first league loss since

1990, snapped the team's 65-game league win streak and likely knocked

the Indians out of winning their 14th straight league championship.

Hart possesses a torrid passing attack, led by junior quarterback

Tyler Lyon, who has passed for 2,064 yards and has 15 touchdowns. His

prime target is senior wide receiver Ryan Wolfe, who has caught 63

passes for 866 yards and four touchdowns. Hart also has a good ground

attack, spearheaded by junior running back Robbie Casselberry, who

has 81 carries for 594 yards and nine touchdowns.

* SOMETHING INTERESTING: Despite the loss to Valencia, Hart is

ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division II.

BURROUGHS VS. SAUGUS

* WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday.

* WHERE: Memorial Field at Burroughs High.

* RECORDS: The Indians are 4-4, 0-3 in league; the Centurions are

5-3, 1-2.

* LAST WEEK: Burroughs lost to Canyon, 28-13; Saugus defeated

Burbank, 34-7.

* OUTLOOK: As Burbank found out last week, Saugus is not the same

team that finished last in the Foothill League last season. In 2003,

the Centurions lost league games to Burbank and Burroughs, and went

winless (0-5). However this season, Saugus is much improved, and it

is competing in the tough league. The team is led by junior

quarterback Zach Summers, who has passed for 1,051 yards and eight

touchdowns. He is also a threat on the ground, as he has rushed for

seven touchdowns.

* SOMETHING INTERESTING: Saugus was the only Foothill League team

not to make it to the CIF Southern Section Division II playoffs in

2003.
