Emblem Club No. 86

installs officers

Burbank Emblem Club No. 86, had its 64th installation of officers

on Jan. 27 at the Burbank Elks Lodge No. 1497, 2232 N. Hollywood Way.

Supreme Emblem Club President Barbara Braner, from Beardstown,

Ill., and her Supreme Marshal Lu Ann Froschauer from Lincoln, Ill.,

led the installing suite of supreme officers as the Burbank officers


were installed.

Burbank Elks Lodge No. 1497 Exalted Ruler Ron Tice and Esteemed

Leading Knight John Spangler were also honored guests.

Those being honored were Elaine Paonessa, who is serving for the

forth time as president; Bernice Wynn, junior past president; Ramona

Higgins, vice president; Mary Hoffman, financial secretary; Charlene

George, treasurer; Arlene Bakke, recording secretary; Millie Morgan,

corresponding secretary; and Elaine Paonessa, press correspondent.

Others there were Lupe Ruiz, chairwoman of trustees; Irene

Brandies, second trustee; Margie Kalisz, third trustee; Joanne

Vallone, marshal; Heather Wynn, first assistant marshal; Jessica

Lachance, second assistant marshal; Lisa LaChance, chaplain; Dorothy

Koester, organist; Matilde Ramsey, first guard; and Ree Walker,

second guard.

After the installation ceremony, refreshments, prepared by chef

Jerry, were served in the social quarters of the Elks Lodge.

Temporary Aid Center

has garage sale

The Burbank Temporary Aid Center will have a garage sale from 8

a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 19 at 1304 W. Burbank Blvd.

A variety of items will be available for sale, including

furniture. All items must be removed at the time of purchase.

Only cash and local checks with proper identification will be

Resident joins county

museum board

Ed Roski Jr. of Toluca Lake has been name to the L. A. County

Museum of Art Board of Trustees, capping a five-year recruitment

effort that led to the addition of 21 new members.

Roski is chairman and CEO of Majestic Realty. He joins the board

as the facility prepares for a major expansion of its Wilshire

Boulevard campus.

Concert will benefit

Howard Museum

The Burbank Historical Society has announced that Steve Hall,

noted pianist, will appear at the Steinway grand piano at 3 p.m.

March 6 in the Gordon R. Howard Museum in Burbank.

The two-hour performance is a benefit to raise funds to further

the work of the historical society in preserving the community's
