from John Muir, Jordan and Luther middle schools.
The meet was held in boys' and girls' divisions and broken down in
grades six, seven and eight. The overall winner was Muir, which
accumulated 517 1/2 points, Jordan (401 1/2 ) was second and Luther
(320) was third.
In addition to some fine times turned in by the participants,
there were a few athletes who stood out.
In the seventh-grade girls' division, Rebecca Fredrickson of
Jordan had a hand in three meet records. Along with winning the mile
in 5 minutes 56.3 seconds, she also ran legs in her team's winning
4x100-yard (1:01.56) and 4x440 (4:58.86) relay teams.
In all, 10 meet records were broken in the competition.
