Here are a few of the issues the council will consider Tuesday night.
PUBLIC ARTWORK
The council will consider a resolution to approve the design and
installation of two sculptures to be placed at the Burbank Water and
Power facility. A stone sculpture with fountain, titled "Community,"
will cost $294,144. A stainless steel sculpture titled "Water and
Light" will cost $50,000. Both sculptures would be paid for from the
Burbank Water and Power budget.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The council will probably approve the resolution.
ZONING STUDY SESSION
The council will conduct a study session on the interim height and
size restrictions for single-family homes. The restrictions are being
considered to prevent so-called "mansionization," the construction of
large homes out of character with the neighborhood.
City staff anticipate presenting the standards to the Planning
Board April 25 with a hearing before the council in May. The study
session begins at 5 p.m.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The council will probably provide direction on how staff should
proceed with the interim standards.
