Organization Offers Sign-up

The Burbank Vikings Youth Football and Cheer Program will have the

first sign-up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 23 at the Sport Mart in

the Empire Center, 1900 Empire Ave.

The divisions are separated by age; 7- to 8-year-olds (up to 105

pounds), 9- to 10-year-olds (up to 125 pounds), 11- to 12-year-olds

(up to 150 pounds) and 13- to 14-year-olds (up to 185 pounds). The minimum weight is 55 pounds. For more information, visit the website

TROOP MEMBER BECOMES EAGLE SCOUT

Kadrian S. Alvarenga of Burbank, a member of Troop 209 of the Boy

Scouts Verdugo Hills Council, has received the rank of Eagle Scout.

He is the son of Salvador Mayra Alvarenga of Burbank.

The project, completed in more than 140 hours of service,

consisted of designing and painting a garden mural, planting a garden

and cleaning the playground of a school.

Other awards he has received include the 100 Miler Award, the

two-week backpacking trip at Philmont Scout Ranch Award and the over

80 nights of camping award.

He is a senior at Loyola High School.

WESTERN FASHION SHOW TO RAISE FUNDS

Friends of the Autry are "Puttin' on the West" at this year's

annual Fashion Show and Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 25 at

the Autry National Center in Griffith Park.

Autry National Center staff members will strut their stuff down

the runway with the latest in contemporary western wear. Fashions

will be provided by the Old Frontier Clothing Co. and the Ann 'N' Eve

Collection. There will be a silent auction and prize drawings.
