Landing gear on plane collapses

Bob Hope Airport operated for an hour with just one runway Monday

after the landing gear of a twin-engine place collapsed shortly after

landing.

The two people and dog aboard the Piper Apache were not injured in

the 10:10 a.m. incident, airport spokesman Victor Gill said.

Emergency response crews immediately responded to remove the plane

from the runway, Gill said.

The plane was cleared at about 11:10 a.m., and there was no

disruption to the airport operation, Gill said.

Robbery suspect caught after chase

A Burbank man was being held on $500,000 bond for the alleged

armed robbery of a liquor store.

Michael Holmes, 46, was arrested Sunday evening after running from

the store in the 1900 block of Glenoaks Boulevard, Burbank Police Lt.

David Gabriel said.

Holmes has been charged by the Los Angeles County district

attorney's office with one count of armed robbery, Gabriel said.

Holmes allegedly fired two shots into the store's ceiling before

running out with $100 in cash, Gabriel said.

Murder suspect recovering

A man charged with the murder of his girlfriend remains

hospitalized and has yet to appear in court for an arraignment.

Herman Delos Rios, 53, was given a court date of May 4 although it

remains unknown whether he will appear that day, Burbank Police

Department spokesman Lt. Dave Gabriel said.

Delos Rios is on a restricted floor at Los Angeles County-USC

Medical Center with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Gabriel said.

On March 11, police responded to a 911 call at the home in the 500

block of South Parish Place, where Delos Rios lived with Sunday

Henig, 50. Henig was found shot to death in an office area at the

residence, police said.
