GIRLS' BASKETBALL
Media City Tribe: A group of local youth teams -- 16-and-under, 14 and 10-and-under -- finished a successful season, doing well in tough
competition across the state.
The 10-and-under squad of fifth-graders finished seventh in
California.
All three teams competed in tournaments throughout California,
including East Bay Explosion's event in the Bay Area, where the
16-and-under group placed second and the 10-and-under taking third.
The 10-and-under tem also took second in the UPG Memorial Day
weekend tournament and won the Santa Barbara Classic the week before,
going 4-0.
While the other two teams have players from across the San
Fernando Valley and Los Angeles, the 10-and-under squad is comprised
almost entirely of Burbank residents. The team includes Tenika
Capouch, Kacee Cartee, Reilly Brennan, Gabriella Piniero, Nadine
Byers, Chyna Cotangco, Hunter Rickard, Rena Tomihara, Rishonda Napier
and Marilyn Flynn.
