The cost to the city for the raises will be $600,710. Councilwoman Stacey Murphy was not present at the meeting.

BIKEWAY SCULPTURE APPROVED
The council approved an Arts in Public Places sculpture be placed
along the Chandler Bikeway at Keystone Street and Chandler Boulevard.
"The Wagon Pull" depicts two children with their dogs, one being
pulled in a wagon. The bronze sculpture weighs 1,300 pounds and will
be mounted on a stainless steel frame.
WHAT IT MEANS
The sculpture will be delivered about 14 to 18 weeks after being
ordered. The total cost for the sculpture and installation will be
$49,830.
WHAT THEY SAID
"The piece is great," said Councilwoman Marsha Ramos. "We get
outstanding quality and the price is economically feasible."

LAW FIRM HIRING
The City Council hired Shute, Mihaly, & Weinberger LLP to give a
legal opinion on what controls the city has over the sale of property
by NBC Universal.
WHAT IT MEANS
With the pending sale by NBC Universal of a 9-acre parcel at
Alameda Avenue and Bob Hope Drive, the city wanted a second legal
opinion on what action it can or cannot take in regards to how the
property is developed.
Shute, Mihaly was one of two law firms responding to the request
for proposals from the city.
The firm estimated their cost for the opinion to range between
$20,000 and $35,000.
