There was a merging of great cities and minds when the Glendale Chamber of Commerce celebrated the installation of officers at its seventh annual Premiere Gala Friday night at the Hilton Glendale.

Dignitaries from Glendale, Burbank and La Cañada Flintridge came together to honor incoming Glendale Chamber President Bill Wiggins, and thank outgoing President Joan McCarthy.

Wiggins has held prominent positions in both Glendale and Burbank. He is chairman of Automation Plating Corp. in Glendale.

He has served two, four-year terms on the Burbank City Council and was mayor.

He is also a commissioner for the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority.

McCarthy received many accolades for her term as president and was cheered by her fellow employees from The Walt Disney Co.

Those attending included Ernie Burger of Glendale who is chairman of Leadership Burbank and Gary Olson, executive director of the Burbank Chamber of Commerce.

Checking out the silent auction items during the reception was La Cañada Councilman Dave Spence, Pat Anderson, executive director of the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce and Rosalie and Ron Youra of La Cañada Flintridge.

Ron Youra is on the board of directors for the Desi Geestman Foundation and is a member of the Glendale Kiwanis Club.

Karl and Mary Loureiro and Art and Gerri Cragnotti of Glendale were also in attendance, as were Mark Goena of Arcadia, Linda Noel of Burbank, who works with Joan McCarthy at Disney Worldwide Outreach in Burbank, and Mary Wylie Madden of Burbank who was attending as a guest of Sunder Ramani of La Cañada Flintridge and chairman of the board of the Burbank Community YMCA.

Glendale's DreamWorks was represented by Jackie Stern, who works in marketing.

She invited Michelle Cannon.

The committee members who deserve loud applause for a festive evening are Judee Kendall, Glendale Chamber executive director; and Rosemary Montana, Ann Marie Piersol, Stephen Ropfogel and Rod Salazar. Greeting guests on their way in were chamber staff Tiza Atanque, Verna Burghart, Karen Oblak and Vic Pallos.
